Every Shot Counts is an artwork produced as a digital transfer on mirror dibond aluminium, mounted in a custom aluminium tray frame with an integrated hanging system.

The work reinterprets the iconography of war through the lens of contemporary self-image. A WWII-style soldier, rifle in hand, transforms his weapon into a selfie stick, flashing a casual peace sign.

The mirrored aluminium surface reflects the viewer into the work, implicating us directly in the scene. The viewer does not remain a distant spectator, but becomes part of the image — caught between history and vanity.

Every Shot Counts confronts the tension between sacrifice and self-promotion, silence and survival. It questions what happens when narratives of conflict, once shaped by hardship and loss, are filtered through a culture of likes, followers, and fleeting validation.
